Summary
When the Treaty of Versailles was signed, the nation of Poland was recreated. From the defeated German Empire, Yugoslavia also became its own country. The Ottoman Empire broke up thus earning its self the nickname the "Sick Man of Europe", and Turkey's formation was the result. Also Austria and Hungary were split. Bulgaria, Romania and Albania formed from Czechoslovakia. Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania gained independence during the Russian revolution.
