The Conflicts between Iran, Iraq and Kuwait were ignited by religious tension but were fueled by oil resources. When the Shiite revolution occurred in Iran and the Shah is replaced by Ayatollah Khomeini it concerned Saddam Hussein deeply. Hussein is the Sunni leader of Iraq and fears a Shiite revolution. Khomeini is anti-American thus they supported Iraq. War eventually breaks out from the fear that revolution would spread to Iraq. Thus far in this conflict it is a religion based war; however they both claimed territory of each others (Oil). Saddam Hussein claims Kuwait and starts the first Gulf war. August 1990 Iraq invades Kuwait. This is done because of the oil fields in Kuwait. America says "no more Munich s" proclaimed by George Bush Sr. and place sanctions on Iraq to pull out. This quote refers to the hard line stance against appeasement; however Bush perhaps is also pushed because of oil. All and all The conflicts in these Arab nations were caused from both religious reasons and the allure oil resources.

Israel had a series of stunning military victory's against Arab nations. This has helped establish Israel as a powerful nation. In israels infancy directly after the UN granted palestine to the Jews, they got attacked by   five Arab countries Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, and Syria. However the conflict ended with Israel gaining considerable territory. Proving israel as a country. Israel also set up a first strike policy and would kill two Arabs for every one Israeli killed in a terrorist attack. Next durring the 1956 Suez Crisis Egypt nationalized the Suez Canal. A French, British, and Israeli coalition attacked Egypt and occupied the canal zone but soon withdrew under international pressure. In the Six-Day War of 1967, Israel attacked Egypt, Jordan, and Syria. The war ended with the Israel occupying substantial amounts of Arab territory. this despute ended with international diplomacy which also helped estabish israel as a nation. Egypt and syria attacked Israel in 1973, despite this early Arab sucees the conflict ended inconclusively moreover proving Israeli military prowess from this the Arab nation learned Israel couldn't be beat militarily. Thus Israel come out of all major conflicts a stronger country.

Undoubtedly the British and French have created problems in the Middle east. However, due to the Sykes-Picot agreement in 1916 most of the territory was given to Britain. Thus the onus for what has happend in the Middle East is more on England than France. Despite this the British and the French were still responsible in dividing up the former Ottoman territories into mandates. The Balfour Declaration which was a British initiative, promised to set up a Jewish homeland in Palestine. But, this is where the Problem was created, because the French also promised the Arabs independence in the very same region. This began the Israeli-Arab conflict. But, Britain specially was quiet responsable for what happen because they promised the Israelis the region after France gave the arabs independence. After this the British handed over the problem to the UN but at this point little could be done to solve what had happend. The UN did the best they could to create world peace but unfortunately it is, for the most part, an unsolvable conflict.
